I’ve been dead curious about how mineral makeup are made, and when Theresa Carbonell of Babydoll Minerals offered mineral makeup classes, I registered right there and then to see mineral makeup made realtime.
I was greeted by two cheerful faces as I was first to arrive at their seminar area - a warm-hearted Theresa, whom I thought was older than me and turned out just my age ( See! We are Young! Haha! ) , and Mitzie, a very charismatic and charming business parter of Theresa’s who is also an Image Consultant. Theresa’s very passionate with her craft, alright, she started tinkering with spa ingredients since age of 16, and started up a company Kai Personal Care Collection which was bought by a company that does sub-contracting cosmetics and other beauty products. Right now, she’s busy with her Babydoll Mineral Cosmetics, developing new products to introduce to the market, and she also extends her talent and knowledge to those whoare interested to make mineral cosmetics, or even formulate their own line in the future.
The workshop was cool. First, she discussed what mineral makeup is, discussed the basic ingredients, and demonstrated how to make them! I got to see ingredients put together in a coffee grinder to make really good bases, formulating colors that match our skin tone for foundation, and the most exciting part - making eyeshadow and blush! I just love the colors, and the shimmers!
Overall, she gave a good background on what mineral makeup is, its basic ingredients, and some tips and tricks on how to make good mineral makeup products. I’m impressed on how knowledgeable she is, and how helpful she is when it comes to our questions, and she also offered raw ingredients for sale considering the dearth of mineral makeup ingredients here in our country. I could say I gained extra knowledge, as I have already read the Mineral Makeup Secrets, Revealed! book by Coastalscents (a must buy!) , which is an outstanding book that helps understand more mineral makeup, and formulate makeup, too!

I was talking to my Ninang about my new project…and she said “I use mineral make-up!” Woohoo I thought I was the only one in the family who knew about it.
will there be another class?
Although mineral make-up’s been around for awhile, I am a very new convert. It’s incredible how great even my midlife skin looks after using it for only a few weeks. If you’re interested, I blog about it on my site and link to a sort of “primer” on mineral make up. I never knew exactly what the stuff was, but now I sure do!
And I’m loving it! http://www.softouchintimacy.com/betweenus/?p=108
