I packed the Skin Alison Raffaele Mineral Concealer as part of my vanity kit during my trip abroad a week ago. I remember that it was just a month ago that I checked at my local mall ( while scouting for a good liquid mineral foundation ) and the old Alison Raffaele formulation for their liquid foundation and it was indeed heavy in coverage. Now that they’ve reformulated, they’re talc, paraben free, and the formulation’s filled with antioxidants. I brought the Mineral Concealer with me hoping that it would give me enough coverage for my imperfections for an all-day stay, considering that we’d be out all day for shopping trips.
I got the shade in #3, which is beige and neutral, perfect for concealing for those with medium skin tones. For those with light skin, # 2 or #1 would fare better because #3 is sort of “light” in shade already. Shade #5 is for those with really dark skin shades already.
The texture is liquid, alright, I did not find it too creamy, so let’s settle at semi-creamy, semi-liquid. The product is very light, and it feels light as it is applied on the skin. It quickly dries into a powder finish so blending should be fast here. I must say that this is sort of an advantage because I like my concealers drying fast, as opposed to having them dry so slow that I might make a mess as I blend -pulling product here and there.
Coverage-wise, I find it medium in coverage. It conceals nicely under the eyes, and for the imperfections, given my trouble skin, I preferred my Cosminology Mineral Concealer because it was really, really thick. Thing is, for really, really problem skin, Cosminology Mineral Concealer can really work but those who have normal to semi-problem skin might not be able to appreciate on how really thick the product is. As for me, I applied it on my undereyes and applied it on my imperfections as the coverage for my imperfections ( I really have bad skin, ladies. ) lasted for more than half a day, when I had to reapply a little bit after 3 pm. The Skin Alison Raffaele Mineral Concealer would work absolutely great on those who have minor imperfections to semi-problem skin, or problem skin without too much oiliness. My friend found this to be a dream come true, as she borrowed my concealer everyday during the duration of our trip.
