Mineral makeup usually comes in loose powder form. A few companies have delved into making pressed powders and liquid foundation for those people turned off by messy loose pigments. MAD Minerals is one of those making liquid mineral foundation.
In a recent purchase from MAD, I got myself a sample bottle in 03-W since I am medium-warm toned. Application was easy just by using my fingers. The finish was sheer to medium but can be made heavier by adding a few more layers if needed. The shade I chose looked a bit light initially but it blended in with my skin tone after awhile. A few minutes after application, I felt sweat forming on my forehead (the weather here is cool at the moment). Since I’ve been used to wearing loose powder forms, the liquid foundation felt heavy for me. It was like I had on a “mask†so that was probably one reason I was sweating. The look however, was smooth and flawless and that’s what I liked about it. It did last the day on me and the mask-like feel wore off. Moreover, I was hoping to get the foundation’s claims of the following properties: anti-aging, healing, antioxidant, collagen renewal, hydration, protection from environmental damage and diminished lines/wrinkles. With regular use I’m sure that can be achieved.
For ladies who are used to the feel of liquid foundation, this one’s for you. I, however, would stick with my trusty loose powders for now.
