So long as they have staying power, you can foil them to get more intense color, or use dry for a lighter look. With highly pigmented colors, you lose some of the flexibility that sheers can give. I have super puffy eyelids, and there are many colors I'd love to wear but can't if they are too pigmented, as I can only get away with a lighter application without looking like a racoon! I've worn all 3 as lid colors. I think you can build up the color on them pretty well. I really love the shades and the sparkle in them.
