Mineral Makeup Review : Lumiere Happy Hour Collection

Lumiere Cosmetics
‘ latest mineral eyeshadow collection called Happy Hour is indeed for the “happy hours!” The colors are just so happy that you’d want to smile for yourself and wear them.

As for being pigmented, I can say that the Happy Hour Collection shades are not so pigmented - they apply in sheer, and this is perfect for those who want a touch of happy color, not wanting her eye makeup to be too vivid or bold. Everything’s shimmery, so this is perfect for nightouts, or if you just want to make your eyes stand out with the highlighting ability of the shimmer.

From l-r : Blue Hawaiian, Appletini, Tequila Sunrise, Cosmopolitan, Pina Colada, Lemon Drop, and Rum & Coke

Colors Lemon Drop ( blonde yellow ) and Pina Colada ( shimmery white ) make really, really good browbone highlighters, while Appletini ( apple green )would make a great lid color, and Blue Hawaiian ( mid-blue ) , Cosmopolitan ( mid-pink ) and Tequila Sunrise ( salmon-y shade ) would make great lid or crease colors. Rum & Coke on the other hand, is a gorgeous gorgeous shade for the outer V or for smoky eye as it is somewhat rusty-gold-dark dark brown in color.

To sum up, all the shades are indeed unique and interesting. I’m glad that I have them in my collection, because even if they’re very young colors, I can always use them whenever I feel lightheaded. Quality is no question - they’re sheer in texture but good, and I can recommend this for those who are adventurous with colors, but are a little bit shy to take it to full blast!

I picked up Blue Hawaiian, Appletini and Cosmopolitan.
I’ve worn all 3 as lid colors. I think you can build up the color on them pretty well. I really love the shades and the sparkle in them. I liked Cosmopolitan so much I actually bought 2 of them :P

Sometimes shadow colors that aren’t as strongly pigmented have a great benefit over highly pigmented ones, as you can have more versatility. So long as they have staying power, you can foil them to get more intense color, or use dry for a lighter look. With highly pigmented colors, you lose some of the flexibility that sheers can give. I have super puffy eyelids, and there are many colors I’d love to wear but can’t if they are too pigmented, as I can only get away with a lighter application without looking like a racoon!
