With all the La Minerals samples that I have right now, I was most giddy to try their foundation because I’ve always been appreciative when I discover a great mineral foundation. I’m hoping that this would be one – from the moment I swiped some product at the back of my hand.
Right now, I have tried LA Mineral’s Hollywood Face Base, their medium to heavy coverage foundation.LA Minerals is very very finely milled – definitely no coarse minerals here whatsoever. It’s incredibly light and for a $17 pot, this is already ALOT! I was able to try it in Medium Warm, just about my shade ( I’m not fair anymore, somehow I’ve adapted a tanned skin tone from summer and I intend to keep it that way before it fades off ).
There is very fine shimmer in the minerals, but it glides off as matte on my face. Coverage is medium but very very buildable since it is finely milled. I love, love my face as I applied the mineral foundation, as it felt very light, but there was definitely coverage alright! It felt like second skin and I could not ask for more. The staying power is good, because it’s been on my skin for the past four to five hours and it’s still very much there- it did not fade off just yet. No cakiness, everything matte ( good for photoshoots ) and comfortable, I like LA Minerals’ Hollywood Face Base, and would recommend it to everyone!
P.S. it just reminds me, LA Minerals sort of feels like Silk Naturals but the coverage is just way heavier.

That is good to hear. I like medium-heavy coverage too. Btw, SN now has medium and heavy coverage foundation bases. Hope I get mine soon then do a review.
I have bought this LA Mineral’s Hollywood Face Base two weeks back and it’s simply awesome. I would also recommend this product to everyone.
i was thinking of getting it, but was kind of skeptical because it says on their website that some people claim it doesn’t come off during swimming. i’ve heard many mineral makeup sites say that & they were wrong. hmm .. maybe i’ll try this some time.
