Mineral Makeup Review : Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals

jane iredale liquid minerals
Jane Iredale Minerals has represented mineral makeup in the glamorous world of Hollywood in more ways than one. It’s been dubbed the “runway” makeup, and used by in the sets of TV series, and it’s one of the most glamorous brands of makeup. With its undeniably classy, gold packaging, it’s definitely more than eye candy to alot.

I was sent Liquid Minerals for review, and I must say, if every brand has a unique and special item in their product line, Liquid Minerals is Jane Iredale’s.

First, let’s take a look at the packaging. When you look at it, it looks like a classy, bottle of gold, with tiny spheres suspended in some kind of liquid. The explanation is, according to the website,

This state-of-the-art liposome technology allows us to encapsulate large amounts of active ingredients such as Coenzyme Q10 and vitamin C.

So, the spheres have some Coenzyme Q10 and vitamin C! That explains. These two are well-known skin nourishing ingredients, so skin is well taken of from the start! Just looking at it makes me all in awe. It looks like a futuristic beauty product! Truly one of the most futuristic and modern items in the makeup world, for sure!

Moving on, I got my shade in Golden Glow. In reference, I use Bare Escentuals in Light ( 2.0 ) , Monave in Caroline+Hyeyeon 50/50, and Valerie Beauty in W3 ( and so much more, haha ! That, I shall elaborate in another entry ! ) . Now, shades in Liquid Minerals are lighter since with the loose variant, I am using Warm Silk.

With my first few pumps to get some product, I saw some transparent gel - it was Aloe Vera. I smoothed it in my skin for some moisturizing action. When I finally got some color from my next few pumps, I immediately checked its consistency. As compared to normal, traditional liquid foundations that I have tried, the consistency of traditional foundations are definitely heavier than this. I was surprised that Liquid Minerals was very light - its consistency was even lighter than tinted foundations!

When I applied it on my skin using a sponge, it didn’t feel heavy at all - it was surprisingly light. I felt a pang of nostalgia, when I used to apply traditional liquid foundations on me - it felt like I applied an additional , artificial layer of color on me. With Liquid Minerals, it didn’t feel that way. As I smoothed it on my face, I didn’t know where the coverage was coming from - because there is indeed coverage that I was getting! As I got more coverage, I still felt that it was my skin, as it looked very natural on me. I am really really impressed by this.

With Liquid Minerals, my skin looked like it had a major makeover in terms of smoothness, evenness and suppleness. The formula is fit for every skin type and promises to make skin look great! I still needed to apply concealer on my problem areas since they really are problem areas, but overall, Liquid Minerals gave me a quick fix on my complexion!

Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals works really well with its Pressed Powder variant - it acts like a finishing powder, that further refines the skin to its finest. It’s an incredible tandem that I am strongly recommending for the interested Jane Iredale buyer to get BOTH Liquid Minerals and Pressed Powder to get optimal results. As for the staying power, my skin looked and felt great all throughout the day, earning compliments from my co workers and friends. ( Gosh, even I didn’t expect such compliments! Woohoo! )

To sum up my review , Liquid Minerals is for those who just can’t deal with loose minerals. It provides that quick, amazing effect on the complexion, in just a jiffy. I appreciated Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals during my on-the-go moments, and whenever I am in an absolute hurry! I am not giving up my loose minerals since I really love experimenting, but Liquid Minerals further made me appreciate liquid mineral makeup! This is definitely one of my must-have things in my vanity mirror that I would love to share with my mom - since at her age, she just doesn’t feel like being experimental as I am anymore, and when she just saw Liquid Minerals, she was giddy all over, tried it, and loved it! Now , my problem is, how to get it back from her. Hahaha!

Tata for now!

This sounds great! When I tried the PurePressed Base and Blush, I was really impressed by them and plan to repurchase, so I think I’ll try Liquid Minerals, as well.

I’ve used Jane Iredale mineral powders for several years (and LOVE them), but I, too, have wanted to know more about the liquid. Thanks for the review. Now I’ve gotta get some, along with the pressed powder.
