I’ve been using liquid or cream-based foundation lately for my work, since it’s too messy and tedious to bring with me loose minerals on photoshoots. I personally love loose mineral foundation, but I definitely need a car, and a very secure train case equipped with lights and all those platters to keep me sane as I use them for work.
Aside from Skin Alison Raffaele, I am still on the lookout for really good mineral makeup that can perform as well as traditional makeup, in the professional sense. I stumbled into Go Minerals Cosmetics, and I was given a chance to try their Cream to Powder Mineral Foundation.
Of course, at first, I’m checking the label if this is indeed mineral makeup, or not. So far, no traces of parabens. So all good. I started fiddling with its texture, and I can say that it reminds me of Max Factor’s Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation or MAC’s Full Coverage, texture-wise. I immediately ditched the sponge ( sorry, I have some discrimination against sponges heehee ), whipped up my concealer brush, and applied dots all over my face, sprayed MAC Charged Water to dilute a little, then started distributing the foundation using a stippling brush all over my face.
To compare this with the traditional makeup counterparts, I was surprised that this dried up ( or transformed from cream, to powder ) pretty fast, so the build up time was pretty small. The meaning of build up time, as I have learned from a makeup artist from Becca last time, is how fast your liquid or cream foundation dries, because the slower it dries, the more chances that you can build up for more coverage. This one dried pretty quick on me, but I think that’s fine because if I wanted more coverage, I could always spray in some moisture mist to remedy that then apply more! The coverage also seemed too thin on me, so I figured I should be using more than one layer of this.
The coverage was medium, buildable til full. I noticed that the shade Creamy Almond was too light for me so I used it on my sister to see a more accurate result. Before using it on her, I used it on me and realized that it was just so easy to cover using cream to powder foundation! My sister enjoyed the very flawless, and instant coverage she got from Go Minerals’ Cream to Powder Mineral Foundation and asked me, “what do I need this for?” since she was very into loose mineral foundation ( she uses Dreamworld’s full coverage formula in Quan Yin Shade, by the way ). I told her that she can use this for weddings, and for formal events wherein she needs to be in full makeup. I’m just so glad that I was able to find something like traditional makeup but is mineral makeup like this product! And if you ask me if it comes out oily, it instantly became matte on my face as soon as I applied it and it did not oil up, so I’m pretty happy with it. This can be set by any light to medium coverage loose mineral foundation, and you’re all ready to go! The staying power is pretty decent, as well. I have no problems with this.
I definitely recommend Go Minerals’ Cream to Powder Mineral Foundation to anyone who would want to keep something for their personal use for formal events or really “heavy duty” events, as well as makeup artists whose clients want more skin-loving makeup like mineral makeup . I give this product a thumbs up . Definitely works.
