Mineral Makeup Review : Erth Minerals Blusher in Petal

And we’re up for another review! This time, it’s Erth Minerals’ Mineral Blusher in Petal.

I have received some Erth Minerals products for reviews, and I have been roadtesting them for quite a while. So expect more posts about the brand in a few weeks, but I’m starting my review with something that I’ve been endlessly challenged about – mineral blush.

Mineral blushes are tricky. They’re beautifully pigmented, so one has to be careful about choosing a good brush or the amount of product to be picked up. Another thing to be considered in choosing mineral blushes are their staying power. I’ve noticed that alot of mineral blushes have very poor staying power even if they are applied wet – which is a little bit disappointing. Or it might be that my expectations are too high because I’ve got the oiliest skin possible that everything melts.

I tried Erth Minerals Blusher in Petal. Erth Minerals describes it as “a softer, more muted pink”. It’s a very “shy” and pale flush of pink with some shimmer. I got a medium sized powder brush made of animal hair to control application on the cheeks, and it gave my cheeks a matte ( but not flat ) sheer pink color. It was actually very nice to look at, I love it, and it looked like it would stay on my cheeks even if my skin started to oil up. Lo and behold, after three hours, it was still there. To sum it up, this is a good blush that can be used for simple day looks without screaming “I’m all made up!”

And, a big jar costs only $12.50. Very, very affordable, I may say! I’d totally wear this blush on my really lazy days when I am too lazy to think!
