I’ve spent the entire week roadtesting Earthen Glow Minerals Cover Me Mineral Foundation. I’ve always been fond of full coverage mineral foundation because I find them very useful for everydays – I get to look my best in front of my clients without sacrificing the health of my skin – skin breathes, and skin looks good, because of ample coverage!
Okay, going on, I have taken a blind leap of faith and ordered the shade in Claire, in full pot, ( I am the worst example for mineral makeup shoppers since I never get contented with samples ), hoping that it would be my perfect shade. It’s described in the site as a, “warm, medium foundation.”. I could have sworn they had a name of an actress enclosed in a parenthesis that I googled to compare my skin tone with, but now, I couldn’t find it anymore! Anyways, moving on..
When I tried to get some product out of the pot, I had difficulty. I removed the sifter and saw that the mineral foundation somehow became very “compact”, so I had to scrape some product for the mineral foundation to get out through the sifter. No big deal. I used a flat top brush to apply this on my face, just after my first sheer layer of finishing powder.
As I applied the Cover Me Mineral Foundation on my face, I was definitely impressed with the coverage – it was full, alright. It did not disappoint, and joined the ranks of my favorite brands for full coverage mineral foundation namely Monave and Pure Anada Minerals. The texture is matte, and my face is again, well, flawless ( yay! ). The overall finish I got was creamy-matte, but it definitely just fit my taste when I sprayed moisture mist in my entire face for a dewy effect for I’m not too fond of matte textured foundations since my pores are huge and they might look magnified. Cover Me Mineral Foundation is not too matte per se, but building it up like what I do might make it look a bit too heavy that the simple remedy in making it look perfect is just spraying moisture mist! It totally works.
What surprised me most is the staying power and oil control that this mineral foundation provides. It gave me a good 3-4 hour staying power before I decided that I wanted a retouch, and that’s quite a long time for me already. Imagine applying this mineral foundation around 1:30pm, and feeling the need for retouch at around 5pm or 6pm. I was quite in awe for this mineral makeup has got a very very impressive staying power that they can definitely boast of.
To sum up, I’m glad to have a full pot of Earthen Glow Minerals Cover Me Mineral Foundation in Claire with me. More than glad, actually. Coverage is superb, staying power is superb, and oil control is a good superb surprise! Haha! I’d recommend this to anyone who needs really good coverage, and has really hopelessly oily skin, this might actually work on them!
