hey there !! i’ve heard so much about mineral maeup and it has convince me that it could be the most natural thing out there to give taht falwless look ! Well i have a problem ! I want to give Pure Luxe a try, however i do not know which shade is right for me ! For Bare Minerals, I’m a tan according to the lady that help me find my shade at Sephora. However I’m afraid that the shade might be a little off because my skin isn’t as dark as it now in the summer time ! >
I just started using mineral makeup and really liked it at the start; however, I’m 36 and have somewhat dry and maturing skin, and it seems the minerals may be drying my skin even though I apply moisturizer every morning and night. I noticed that EveryDay Minerals offers a foundation that’s more sheer and for dry skin. Do you think that would help? Does anyone have any suggestions? I need help. I drink a fair bit of water and even took Omega 3 & 6 oils. Thanks.
HELP! I’ve tried a local mineral makeup formulated for my skin tone, Bare Escentuals, Sheer Cover. ALL makeups make my skin itch in heat or when I get hot. It may be reacting with my moisturizers but I love mineral makeup. Any ideas?
Hi! I love your site, thanks for putting all the work into it.
I’ve just begun using mineral makeup. I’m 48 and the makeup makes the fine lines around my eyes really show up! I use moisturizer and let it soak in a half hour before I apply the makeup. Is there a time when one is just too old to use this makeup? It looks great everywhere else as long as I stay with EM because it doesn’t dry my skin out more.
So, how ’bout mineral makeup for older skin? Good? Bad?
Kim - try BareFacedMinerals.org. they have foundations with vitamin e.
Martha : Must be the bismuth oxychloride. Try online mineral makeup formulators like Everyday Minerals, Monave, Cosminology, etc ( please check my list
Sillyblindharper : Yep there are certain mineral makeup brands that cater to that and have vitamin E like Barefacedminerals.org
Or just stay away from silica, kaolin clay, bentonite clay, and silk powder. You can mix your foundation with moisturizer to make a good tinted moisturizer
Helen : It’s a trial and error basis, go check for the deeper shades in the foundation formulas, get a few samples?:) say three.
I remember that Honey is a deep shade@ PL
Hi, I’ve recently started using mineral make up and I love it, when I look in the mirror I look healthy and glowing and people tell me how good my skin looks (I normally look terrible because I’ve acne. However recently I’ve been to a wedding and another time a birthday party and on both occasions I was in photographs…… when I saw my picture I was horrified to discover I looked shocking white in them (I mean gothic “mortisa adams” white!!) what could be causing this?….the only thing I’ve changed is my makeup?
