Mineral Makeup On The Beach!

Last weekend was pure bliss to me as I traveled to a place far, far away from the city, and just relaxed, and had an annual reunion with the beach. Of course, everyone knows I just can’t live without applying makeup, specially when my friends and I love taking photos to chronicle our vacations, one just has to look good no matter what! Thing is, makeup should be really unnoticeable, and natural to pull off a relaxed, beautiful vacation photo!

As I prepared for my “travel makeup kit”, I wanted to save as much space as possible because I had alot of skin care, makeup brushes ( which I totally forgot, good thing my bestbud had extras ), and more clothes and a camera gear. ( My back almost broke because I also carried a sturdy and heavy tripod with me! hahaha! ). So there, I used a multi-deck jar and just put about 1/4 teaspoons of each variant of minerals that I would need.

I was able to pack the following :

one-fourth teaspoonfuls of the following

Three shades of foundation, full coverage.
I chose to pack my ever reliable Monave Concealer Foundations in Caroline ( my concealer shade ), Hyeyeon ( my normal shade ), and Saturnina ( a shade darker ). I still had those blemishes so I needed Caroline to conceal, Hyeyeon for my foundation shade for the first few days, and Saturnina on the last day because I might have tanned already. Turns out, I was able to use Saturnina during my last day as I’ve really tanned!

Undereye Concealer – yellow
This is simply a must have for vacations – you just can’t have your picture taken with dark undereyes – don’t allow photos to reveal how stressed you are! I apply this every morning to my undereyes, and to some red areas around my nose. I brought with me Valerie Beauty’s Red Zapper.

Finishing Powder
For those with oily skin, finishing powder is simply heaven sent. I chose to bring Silk Naturals Silk Perfecting Powder with me as it is very sheer and gives a nice finish, and controls oil well.

Mineral Eyeliner & Liner Sealant.
I chose not to bring eyeshadows with me as I used the undereye concealer in yellow as my lidwash already, but I wanted my small eyes to pop out so I chose to bring Monave Ultra-Matte in Tierra Dark ( a dark brown eyeliner shade ) to be applied with Bare Escentuals Weather Everything Liner Sealer. The Liner Sealant is heaven-sent as it would not smudge even if you are already in the water.

Mineral Bronzer
I brought with me both Monave Radiant Illuminizer and Henri Calayag’s Mud Bronzer. I love, love contouring, as I would apply bronzers on my tanned shoulders, make it look like I had slight abs by drawing a straight line on both where the abs should be, and “drawing” a straight line on my thighs for an illusion of slimmer thighs ( teehee ). Of course, as I leave the resort, I would love my cheeks to have that sun-kissed glow, and to amplify my tan, I would apply bronzer and look like a bronzed goddess. ( well, in that case, only slightly bronzed because I didn’t tan totally ). Bronzer also doubles as a blush, so it’s all good.

What I love about mineral makeup is that it doesn’t have harsh chemicals, that it doesn’t react with the sun, and saltwater. Did I mention that it also stays put? Yes, it does stay put, as long as you don’t rub it off! It is highly water resistant that’s why I can never leave home, go to the beach, or elsewhere without mineral makeup.

Luv it.
