The Mineral Makeup Blog has signed up for Blog Action Day, and erm..we’re late by a few hours! ( sorry! ), but then, here’s a timely entry about saving the environment.
Mineral makeup itself helps the environment already. It does not use chemicals, and how are chemicals made? Aside from the end products, there are also by-products of these chemicals that harm our environment. Just by using mineral makeup, you prevent the destruction of the environment.
Mineralogie, a mineral makeup brand that I will be trying out soon, has come up with their eco-friendly solutions to be able to help preserve our environment.
For starters, the company recently converted its packaging to new solutions made from recycled paper printed with soy ink, and uses green products for shipping such as Milo grain resin biodegradable peanuts.
Mineralogie has taken yet another step forward and transformed its operations with green practices. The company now buys power from Green Mountain Energy, further reducing air pollution, and provides energy-efficient lightbulbs for all workspaces and even for employees to take home. When possible, Van rides her bicycle to work, or drives her hybrid vehicle. Employees work some shifts from home to lower car emissions.
With my background ( working in the printing press ), I know the extra costs added with choosing to print in eco-friendly materials and paper - it is definitely more expensive than the normal paper and ink, which aren’t eco-friendly. That is already a great effort by the company to take a stand in saving the environment. I know not all of us can afford to be eco-friendly, but we can all try the best we can to contribute in saving the environment - perhaps by learning how to segregate trash, cleaning our car mufflers, and conserving energy.
Moving forward, I am really excited in trying Mineralogie’s mineral makeup! Wait up for the review soon!
