Mineral Makeup Look : Skin Alison Raffaele Liquid Foundation

Yesterday, I was able to do makeup for my sister’s photoshoot, and it was just the perfect opportunity to roadtest the liquid mineral foundation that I’ve been hoping to work nicely - Skin Alison Raffaele’s Liquid Foundation. I’ve been wanting to collect good mineral makeup with the hope of one day, I will be able to have a traincase full of just mineral makeup for me to take on the road. It’s quite a challenge, especially here in my country where everything is humid and melts pretty easily.

Results? Here they are.

I used the shade # 3 on both models, and I was very impressed with how the liquid mineral foundation performed. It had medium coverage ( but buildable on a second layer ) even it gave good coverage on one layer alone, it was matte, and the staying power is pretty impressive. I give this a thumbs up and I’m definitely bringing this with me on gigs for weddings ( since the staying power is good enough ) and photoshoots ( because it covers just great ).

I must say that this is the best liquid mineral foundation that I have tried so far. Flawless, good coverage, stays, and is photogenic. Yipee!

Hi there, I love your blog! I would really love to purchase this, but i’m just worried about paying lots of money for intl shipping and stuffs and not getting the right shade :S
aLSO, ive been gg to the alison raffaele site over and over again, and i am kinda confused are you talking about the reality base foundation when you mention liquid mineral foundation?
lastly, is the foundation alright to wear on a daily basis in a humid country? I live in Sg, which is probably as humid as PP! or is it pretty heavy?

    DD: Thanks! :)

J: We’re both on the tropics and boy, it is hard to find good MMU that won’t slide off your face. The shade I used is # 3, and is for fairly light to light skin. medium skin would have to use #4. This is the Reality Base foundation, which is in liquid form. This is their new, reformulated foundation with no preservatives, and full of antioxidants.

If you ask me, I’d advice you to stick to mineral foundations in loose powder form as much as possible. Liquid ones, I feel, are to be used for formal occasions wherein you need more more coverage. :) and I can’t guarantee it won’t slide off, but mineral foundations in loose form usually does their job pretty well. Try Monave, Pure Anada, or Buff’d to achieve liquid foundation finish coz theyre pretty heavy even if theyre in loose powder form! :)

Hey! thanks so much for the reply… :) i’ve been dying to try monave, but to get like 3 samples (7.50 usd) i have to pay shipping rate of 23 usd, which is rather ridiculous to me :( i know that they probably can’t help it, but i’ve always paid usd 5-8 for shipping to singapore for other MMU (those envelope bubble wrap thingie)…so yeah i’ve been putting off sampling monave sigh
also under some light, the MMU on my face appears to be orange, is this normal?
