Mineral Makeup Look : An EOTD While Organizing Mineral Eyeshadows

Crissy, one of our beautiful contributors here, has decided to “bare it all”, and show her EOTD to us!

Here’s her adventure with silver shades! Enjoy reading! – MMU Girl

Whenever I buy mineral eyeshadows, I usually get neutral colors. I’m not too confident with eyeshadow application and neutral colors are a lot more foolproof than its bright colored counterparts. My neutral mineral eyeshadows definitely outnumber any other shade of eyeshadow that I have in my makeup stash.

Weeks ago, I read an entry from this blog about storing mineral makeup sample baggies in trading card or business card holders. I bought a business card holder back then, but never got around to actually organizing my samples. So I started taking out my samples, and my sister suggested storing them by color.

While I was organizing my samples, I had this sudden idea to play with my samples. My first EOTD was using peachy-gold colors that mimic the sunset. That didn’t go so well because when I asked my sister what she thought, she said that she couldn’t see the eyeshadows because it blended too well with my medium golden yellow skintone.

Given my warm toned skin, I decided to try cool colored eyeshadows so it would be more noticeable. For my second EOTD attempt, I used silvers and blues. That didn’t turn out so well, because the end result didn’t look so good. I looked like I had 2 black eyes, except that it was dark blue with silver shimmer. Scrap that EOTD.

I didn’t want to give up, so I did one last EOTD before I continue organizing the rest of my samples. For the third and last EOTD for the day, I decided on silvers and grays. I decided to foil my base eyeshadow so the color would pop, something I didn’t do in my previous EOTDs.

Here’s the final result:

Face:

Monave Foundation in Cecilia + Saturnina

Valerie Pin Up Blush in Coy

Eyes:

Valerie Multi in $400 Shoes (foiled) on lid

Valerie Multi in $400 Shoes (applied dry) middle of lid

Lumiere Silkies in Charcoal on outer lid and crease and outer lower lashline

Meow Feliner in Neurotic on crease for definition

Aromaleigh Sonic Rocks in White Wedding on browbone

Sylvana Silver Eyeliner on lower lashline

Ever Bilena Eyeliner Pencil in Black (can’t believe I don’t have any black mineral eyeliner :-o )

Lips:

Godiva LicoWhite Lip Gloss

Paula Dorf Sheer Lipstick in Breathless

My sister said it looks nice. For her to compliment on my makeup, that’s a good thing! Hahaha. Who would’ve I thought I’d be doing an EOTD while storing eyeshadow samples? Now I’m more comfortable using non-neutral eyeshadows because of this EOTD.
