Hey everyone! I hope everyone’s doing great, and enjoying their weekend, so far! This week, we have a mineral makeup brand review of Alima, courtesy of my co-mineral makeup addict and good friend, Remy. Kate was so nice to send me a set of Alima products to try (thanks, Kate! ) , and when I checked out the shade, it was a little bit light for me, and the person I think who was perfect for this shade was Remy, so I gladly shared the products with her because we need some good’ol honest reviews here, and we would always chat via personal messages or Yahoo Messenger all about mineral makeup.
Okay! Without further adieu, here is her stand on Alima!
Remy says…
The first time I tried Alima, I instantly liked the coverage. I have tried other MMU brands as well, and I can say that this is gonna be one of my favorites. It’s not cakey, it also looks like I have no makeup on, and my face doesn’t look dull. I am using N-2 Satin Matte foundation, whichI think is my shade, although am not quite sure. Haha!
I have some post acne marks, visible pores, and dry/combi skin so I need to put on moisturizer before I buff the foundation, as there are dry/scaly areas on my face due to the meds prescribed by my dermatologist. Although, my post acne marks wasn’t totally covered well (same with other mmu), I still love it especially when I’m in a hurry, since it has a light coverage, I just buff it a few seconds, put on some blush, and run off. It’s that easy! I don’t have to worry if I put on too much or buff too fast. Not a chance of mistake unless you get the wrong shade (there are dozens of shades to choose from), you can always mix the minerals to get your exact match. The price is also quite affordable at $18.95 (around Php 956.00), you get 30g of mineral foundations w/c probably would last for a looong time. If you’re not sure what shade/s to get, try their samples first at $2.75ea (around Php 140.00), good for 1 week of application.
On my FOTD, I used the Dahlia blush. It has a nice flush that gives my face a natural glow, but you need to layer them up a bit for the color to show (at least, in my case). To sum it up, Alima is one of my favorite mineral makeups so far. I encourage everyone to try this and see for themselves the effect that Alima gives on your face. Look at Remy, she absolutely looks so happy and beautiful with her Alima mineral makeup!
Before and After Pictures

The Mineral Makeup Girl’s Thoughts : You heard it from her! Alima Cosmetics is indeed one of the mineral makeup brands to try! It’s very forgiving, won’t cake, and gives good, buildable coverage! The price is also not too expensive, so go get some Alima Cosmetics for you now!

how do products with bismuth oxychloride compare to those with out it? The products without b. o. are cheaper, but how do they wear?
It’s a personal preference if one chooses to use mineral makeup with bismuth oxychloride in it. Some love it for its sheen and are comfortable with it ( Bare Escentuals ), and some get some irritation from it. If irritation occurs, switch to another brand, if it doesn’t, I guess it’s okay. I have used Bare Escentuals, and I got that “itch” when it got warmer, though it wasn’t severe itching that I got. My other friends are not bothered by BO, and I respect that
