Looking Natural with Silk Naturals

There are days that a mineral makeup addict can get rather tired of looking made up. So why not go for natural, no-makeup look? Yes, that is possible with MMU! And what better way to achieve this look than with Silk Naturals, a budding MMU company whose not-so-secret ingredient is real silk powder.

Upon browsing their online catalog, one can avail of most of their products in affordable sample sizes. With their free shipping a few months ago, I knew it is the perfect chance to try out what they have to offer. And being the addict that I am:

The very highlight of my loot is their Perfect Harmony foundation which is actually customizable. Yes, you can make your own shade from their Ivory, Ebony, Warm Gold, and Buttery Gold foundation mixes. It sounds unusual at first. And I must admit, I was pretty darn clueless on what to do.

With the mixing spoon, an empty jar, and the instruction that came with the sample set, I began concocting my very personalized foundation. It actually took three formulas before I could arrive at a good match: 3 scoops of Ivory and one of Buttery Gold.

Can you say it’s a good match to my medium skin with lots of yellow to golden undertones?

I love its medium coverage, just enough to hide the minor imperfections because of a recent breakout. It also applied smoothly and gave a creamy finish. It’s as if my skin could breathe through all that makeup. To further add to today’s natural look, I used the following from Silk Naturals:
- Date Bait bronze tinted perfecting powder as setting powder
- Perfect Harmony foundation: 3 scoops Ivory + 1 scoop Buttery Gold
- Sheer & Gorgeous Perfecting powder as finishing powder
- eyeshadow in Boom all over my lid (for the brightening effect)
- Climax sheer blush on the apple of my cheeks, and
- Darling lip gloss

Of course I lined my upper lash line, curled my lashes and applied mascara to further open my eyes. I just groomed my brows and I’m off to go to a school concert.

I’m just amazed at how I stayed fresh-looking the whole night! Let the “mandatory” before-and-after pic speak for itself:
