Illuminare is well-known as the world’s first liquid mineral makeup. Each product comes in a tube, and really looks like the normal liquid foundation, but really, it’s mineral makeup! Haha! Everything’s liquid, including foundation, blush, and even eyeshadow! I’ve been interested in trying the foundation, because I’ve heard so much rave reviews about this that it won’t budge a bit and this is the ultimate savior for oily skin.
They have the foundation in three finishes:
Fantastic Finish Foundation - liquid minerals with some moisture in it, sheer to medium coverage
Extra Coverage Foundation / Concealer - liquid foundation and concealer in one
Ultimate All Day Foundation /Concealer - the ultimately matte finish that stays for the rest of the day.
I’ve been graced with good friends, and my friend Remy gave me a sample that she bought from the site for me to try. I got the Ultimate All Day Foundation in Florentino Fair.
My initial reaction to this product was that it was very opaque, and it seemed like I needed a good moisturizer applied to my skin before I apply this. The application wasn’t really easy on my first time, because I’m not used to liquid foundations. I did a pretty bad job at applying! Haha! But I managed to try to even it out a bit before it totally dried, so it’s okay. I’m impressed with this product because it stayed on my skin ( miraculous? even without primer, huh! ), and it covered my blemishes. As opposed to other mineral makeup brands, it didn’t even “dew up” a bit. Not that “dewing up” is a bad thing. I actually feel fine when my skin dews up. It’s extremely matte, maybe I’d prefer something semi-matte because I love some glow!
Overall, I’m very impressed with the staying power, that surprisingly did well on my extremely oily skin. It’s just a bit difficult to apply, so I still gotta practice more to perfect it. Maybe use a really good sponge or foundation brush ( taklon) It doesn’t look super natural on the skin, but it makes the skin look normally great still, because of the heavy coverage it gives. All my redness in my skin were zapped away, or rather, concealed for the day. I think this would be great for onscreen makeup!
More reviews about this as I try to perfect the application!
For those who would want to try this line, they are offering a sample pack of the foundation for only $ 10.00. Check this site for details.
