I’ve been using liquid or cream-based foundation lately for my work, since it’s too messy and tedious to bring with me loose minerals on photoshoots. I personally love loose mineral foundation, but I definitely need a car, and a very secure train case equipped with lights and all those platters to keep me sane as I use them for work.
Aside from Skin Alison Raffaele, I am still on the lookout for really good mineral makeup that can perform as well as traditional makeup, in the professional sense. I stumbled into Go Minerals Cosmetics, and I was given a chance to try their Cream to Powder Mineral Foundation.

Mineral Makeup Review : Go Minerals Cream To Powder Foundation
Yesterday, I was able to do makeup for my sister’s photoshoot, and it was just the perfect opportunity to roadtest the liquid mineral foundation that I’ve been hoping to work nicely - Skin Alison Raffaele’s Liquid Foundation. I’ve been wanting to collect good mineral makeup with the hope of one day, I will be able to have a traincase full of just mineral makeup for me to take on the road. It’s quite a challenge, especially here in my country where everything is humid and melts pretty easily.
Results? Here they are.

Mineral Makeup Look : Skin Alison Raffaele Liquid Foundation

I packed the Skin Alison Raffaele Mineral Concealer as part of my vanity kit during my trip abroad a week ago. I remember that it was just a month ago that I checked at my local mall ( while scouting for a good liquid mineral foundation ) and the old Alison Raffaele formulation for their liquid foundation and it was indeed heavy in coverage. Now that they’ve reformulated, they’re talc, paraben free, and the formulation’s filled with antioxidants. I brought the Mineral Concealer with me hoping that it would give me enough coverage for my imperfections for an all-day stay, considering that we’d be out all day for shopping trips.

Mineral Makeup Review : An Update on Cosminology Mineral Concealer

I’ve been spoiled too much, and challenged too much with concealer in loose powder form that it was hard for me to use liquid or creme-based concealers - too much loose powder overload on my face. Hahaha! But then, makeup school prompted me to use liquids because of the unbelievable time pressure, and of course, everyone was using them. Good thing that I still have my liquid concealers in mineral form, and they’re my Cosminology Liquid Concealers.
There are four Cosminology concealers namely AstroBeach, AstroSand, AstroShore, and AstroKoncealer. AstroBeach is a skin tone concealer for light to medium skin tones, AstroSand for medium to dark skintones, and AstroShore for dark skin tones. AstroKoncealer is a yellow cream-based concealer for the undereyes and red areas of the face.

Mineral Makeup Review: Cosminology Liquid Concealer

First of all, Happy Earth Day everyone! Everyone’s been celebrating, and lots of brands have been coming up with their earth-friendly products in celebration of this ( and I hope they’d just do it everyday! Lol! )
We here at the Mineral Makeup Blog celebrate Earth Day everyday as we feast on makeup made from crushed minerals from the earth!

Okay, I really do think that before the year ends, there will be at least twenty brands that will jump in the mineral makeup bandwagon. Mineral makeup is the “it” makeup and is going to an upward trend.
Check out Maybelline Mineral Power.
L’Oréal is adding a mineral line to the Maybelline New York brand. Mineral Power will launch in January 2008, and although the launch comes years after the first mineral makeup line appeared on shelves, company executives are confident that the line will do well.
The line will include a foundation, pressed powder, concealer, loose powder and blush that incorporate triple refined micro minerals and are talc-, fragrance- and oil-free.

Mineral Makeup News : Maybelline Mineral Power Is On!
The Grand Mineral Makeup Day in Manila held during the Bazaarnival in Greenmeadows was a huge success. Girls and boys who were interested in mineral makeup flocked to the airconditioned function room of the bazaar to inquire, have their free makeovers, get their lootbags, and do some mineral makeup shopping. I have never imagined so much people who are interested with mineral makeup!
Let me just say that this was the ultimate mineral makeup wonderland in the country for two days? Never have I seen so much mineral makeup. It was like the absolute heaven for mineral makeup addicts to see a great variety of mineral makeup, that they can see up close in one location! I was lost in the vast sea of color, loose powders, and makeup brushes. Ahh, the weekend that commenced made me depressed as I am now in the real world! It was a dream world!

Grand Mineral Makeup Weekend in Manila!

Mineral makeup usually comes in loose powder form. A few companies have delved into making pressed powders and liquid foundation for those people turned off by messy loose pigments. MAD Minerals is one of those making liquid mineral foundation.
In a recent purchase from MAD, I got myself a sample bottle in 03-W since I am medium-warm toned. Continue Reading »

For those of you who love to line their lids with mineral pigments, have you tried using Milan’s gelle drops? I’ve tried using those sealants sold by different mineral makeup companies in place of water to create a liner from my mmu pigments but they still smudged and faded away. I had my bottle of Milan gelle drops for a few months now but forgot about it when I discovered the ease of using gel liners. Continue Reading »
