Mineral Makeup Review : Alice Cosmetics Mineral Eyeshadow in Sage

Tuesday 5 August 2008 @ 10:35 pm

Fall’s all about smoky eyes, and gray just happens to be a nice shade of eyeshadow that can look a bit more subtle than the typical black smoky eye. I’ve seen it in a few magazines abroad, and it further lured me to get a gray eyeshadow for myself! It’s just so elegant, but it also looks edgy!

I found a sample of Alice Cosmetics in Sage, and I must say, it is a very beautiful green-grey shade! I was able to pull of a nice colorful smoky eye ( sigh, I wasn’t able to take a picture! ) with Alice Cosmetics Amethyst Eyeshsadow, on the 1/3 of the lid, and Alice Cosmetics in Sage on the remaining 2/3 of the lid. I was able to get compliments that it was a nice smoky eye, and I didn’t really intend it to be smoky eyes, but rather, just a new style of eye makeup that I am adapting.

Mineral Makeup Review : Lumiere Happy Hour Collection

Tuesday 15 July 2008 @ 11:00 pm

Lumiere Cosmetics
‘ latest mineral eyeshadow collection called Happy Hour is indeed for the “happy hours!” The colors are just so happy that you’d want to smile for yourself and wear them.

As for being pigmented, I can say that the Happy Hour Collection shades are not so pigmented – they apply in sheer, and this is perfect for those who want a touch of happy color, not wanting her eye makeup to be too vivid or bold. Everything’s shimmery, so this is perfect for nightouts, or if you just want to make your eyes stand out with the highlighting ability of the shimmer.

Playing With Mineral Makeup : Aromaleigh Sonic Rocks

Monday 23 June 2008 @ 3:58 pm

One night, my fellow beauty bloggers and I were practicing some colorful eye makeup, and of course, pigments are the most vibrant eye colors, as mineral eyeshadows are the best in terms of color payoff and affordability!

Eyes still undone, but men, take a look at those colors!

Mineral Makeup Review : Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Eyeshadow Duo

Wednesday 18 June 2008 @ 12:45 am

Just lately, I’ve been more experimental with eye makeup ( specially when I’m around this very talented person ), willing to study and explore alot of eye makeup styles to improve my craft. I’m a dedicated person, I’d like to think ( err hehehehe )

I used Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Eyeshadows yesterday for Suzie’s makeover session. Each item consists of two mineral eyeshadow shades. I have them in three, a Sand 40 ( Very Light Shimmery Brown and Very Light Shimmery Gold? ), Pebble 50 ( Shimmery Medium Brown and Shimmery Yellow-Gold ), and Stone 20 ( Light Pink and Light Violet ). I’ve gotten the light shades of this and realized that there’s a dark one – Clay ,that might be useful for an complete eye makeup look.

A Very Full Mineral Makeup Makeover

Monday 16 June 2008 @ 10:48 pm

I know, I know, I haven’t been posting! My sincere apologies to my readers of The Mineral Makeup Blog! I owe you lots! I’ve been too engrossed with makeup school, and trying to perfect the art of seamless eye makeup that I hardly sleep anymore. Haha!

Anyway, just a treat to my readers, I’ve made a full mineral makeover of my sister using mineral makeup that I’ve never featured before here ( at least, the items! ). The reviews of some of them will be up within the week.

The subject of my makeover is my ever-up for anything little sister Suzie who’s in college. She’s allergic to alot of things that’s why I only let her use mineral makeup, and nothing else. As she got home from school, I asked her if I could make her over for this entry, and she gladly agreed. I’ve been applying makeup for her ever since makeup touched her skin, and I’d be glad to do her makeup for the rest of my life.

Here’s her before pic,

Wow, summer’s almost there in the Northern Hemisphere. Consider me very envious as summer’s just about gone here.

Lumiere Cosmetics Happy Hour Edition Minerals

Wednesday 14 May 2008 @ 12:33 am

With all the fun summer night parties, I’ve been dizzy with delight in enjoying the season’s weather ( erm but turned stormy lately ) , and vibe of being free ( summer just feels so liberating! ), the mindset’s more of “living for the moment.”

Anyway, speaking of parties, one night, a beauty blogger friend of mine buzzed me in YM and told me,
“Here’s the kind of liquor that your parents WOULD approve,”. Hmm, okay, it turned out to be Lumiere Cosmetics’ Happy Hour Collection. Ahh, so my parents would approve at all – after all, it IS mineral makeup! Haha!

Bramble and Berry Custom Mineral Eyeshadow Kits

Thursday 8 May 2008 @ 12:46 am

Lately, I have just noticed that there is a growing number of mineral makeup mavens out there who are more adventurous and started mixing their own formulations, adding some minerals to make their finishing powder or foundation work for them *maybe for oil control*, and some super adventurous ones have ventured into color like blushes and eyeshadows.

Mineral Makeup Swatches : Meow Feliners!

Friday 25 April 2008 @ 9:56 pm

It’s been crazy hot here, and I’ve been skipping my eyeshadow routine lately, but I just would never, ever give up my eyelining because I have a waterproof and weather-resistant sealant! ( I love you Weather Everything Liner Sealer! )

I’ve previously experimented with several multi purpose minerals and using them as eyeliners. But really, I’m glad I found these Meow Feliners sitting around my sister’s desk – perhaps I’ve forgotten about them, because oh my goodness, they are just simply stunning! Not to mention, the vivid colors are perfectly opaque, and eyeliner quality that will just make me be more adventurous with the shades that I would line my eyes with.

Here are some swatches!
