I must admit that I only keep a small collection of eyeshadows. I don’t like collecting too much – I think I’m more obsessed with a flawless canvass, and recently, beautiful cheeks. But of course, staple shades would always be on my vanity table. I’m a schizo when it comes to eyeshadows – sometimes I want them soft focus, and feminine, but sometimes I want them ultra pigmented, that gives instant color at first swipe. What I don’t like? Color that’s too diluted, texture too powdery, or color just won’t show up no matter how much you pack colors on your lids.
With my recent love for playing and experimenting with eyeshadows, I have tried Avon Smooth Mineral Eyeshadow.
Superfine powder pigments blend like a dream. Use one or layer, go sheer or smoky. Whisper-soft, air-light. Natural radiance, pure luxury.
Loose eyeshadow. Using loose mineral eyeshadows must entail a very careful application, for once powder falls on unwanted places ( like your undereyes ) , they are very hard to remove. A generous dusting of loose powder under the eyes is most recommended prior to playing with loose eyeshadows. Let the excess powder fall of there. Sweep them away later.

Larenim, the mineral makeup brand voted Best Natural Makeup 2008 for Eye Colour by Better Nutrition magazine, never fails to wow me. Their mineral finishing powders are simply superb, and their mineral eyeshadows are subtle, but very classy.

Inspired by ballet, Aromaleigh Mineral Makeup comes up with a really romantic, yet colorful eye makeup collection :

This is a gathering of lush shades, not just the expected ballet pink. For me, ballet is dramatic, emotional, and full of tragic beauty. With almost 20 years of ballet study, I watch not only dreaming that I could be on the stage, but knowing the iron strength and control that the most ethereal, graceful dancer must have.
“En Pointe” has a little bit of everything… plush matte shades with graceful iridescent highlights, a brilliant shimmering black and white that can make any color into whatever you imagine, and some lovely frosts with multi-faceted effects. Most of this year’s collections have been straight frosts with vivid sparkling highlights, but this collection is more understated while still being full of mystery and transient beauty.
The photos of these colors barely touch what they truly are like in person…

Bare Escentuals is having a promo on one of their mineral eye glimmer sets, called Easy on the Eyes Soft Focus Eye Color Collection.
I see that the shades are very forgiving and are great for everyday use, for an over all base, wash, or a very slight contour on the crease. It also has a dual fibre brush called Soft Focus Eye Brush which will definitely apply the mineral eye colors on the eyes the sheerest, and soft-focus way, that gives off a very natural and everyday, just-lovely look.

I don’t know, but everytime I check out Alima‘s new releases for mineral eyeshadows, I can’t help but be appealed on how soft focus their shades are, totally safe, simple, but stunning nonetheless.
Maybe it’s because they’ve taken their inspiration from nature. This time, they expressed their love for rivers with their Rivers Collection.

What’s New : Alima Cosmetics River Mineral Eyeshadows

One day while strolling at the mall, I chanced upon Artdeco, a very under-rated, but very very nice makeup brand. I mentioned way back that they released mineral foundations, that were good enough as deparment store brands ( since most of the brands don’t meet my approval, sigh ). I said hello to the cheerful ladies on the booth, and I got surprised that aside from the mineral foundations they have it pots, they also added something new to their line – mineral foundations in powder-dispensing packaging, and mineral eyeshadows.
