Mineral makeup blush is a bit tricky to apply, it’s because for mineral foundations, you can always load up, and just buff them away evenly if you apply too much, but mineral makeup blushes, very pigmented in nature, when applied, cannot be undone unless it is removed with tons of mineral foundation ( which I don’t recommend, since it would chalk up the face ), or by erasing everything and starting again, which is a pain.
To apply, get the smallest amount of product using a very light, and fluffy brush, with the brush head not being bigger than the entire apple of your cheeks. Apply the least amount of product, and as you notice a slight flush, just blend until it looks flawless, and get more product, apply again in a very sheer layer, until you get the desired color on your cheeks.
There are two types of application for mineral blush, according to face shapes.

Bare Escentuals Blushing Beauty Online Special

I’ve been a bit tired from the shimmery mineral blushes lately, and I’ve been on the hunt for nice , matte mineral blushes. This week’s pick : Pure Anada’s Matte Berry Mineral Blush.
The Matte Berry Mineral Blush is described as “a basic cool pink.”. For me, it pretty much looks normal and neutral on the baggie that I have ( I purchased the 12-piece samples from them ), and I was stunned on how pretty it looked on my cheeks. No shimmer, just a touch of color on my cheeks. Plain and simple. Just the way I like it. I think I’d want to wear this blush everyday. The shade is just right for light to medium skin, it’d show up as a lovely pink flush. No red, just something light on the cheeks. Petal-ish.

Mineral Blush of the Week : Pure Anada’s Matte Berry

Lately, I’ve been looking for matte mineral blushes instead of shimmery mineral blushes, probably because I have too much shimmery minerals already! It’s quite a challenge to find matte mineral blushes, and I think I’ve found a very precious one from Lumiere Cosmetics called Fresh Roses.

Mineral Makeup Review : Lumiere’s Fresh Roses Mineral Blush

I know, I know, I haven’t been posting! My sincere apologies to my readers of The Mineral Makeup Blog! I owe you lots! I’ve been too engrossed with makeup school, and trying to perfect the art of seamless eye makeup that I hardly sleep anymore. Haha!
Anyway, just a treat to my readers, I’ve made a full mineral makeover of my sister using mineral makeup that I’ve never featured before here ( at least, the items! ). The reviews of some of them will be up within the week.
The subject of my makeover is my ever-up for anything little sister Suzie who’s in college. She’s allergic to alot of things that’s why I only let her use mineral makeup, and nothing else. As she got home from school, I asked her if I could make her over for this entry, and she gladly agreed. I’ve been applying makeup for her ever since makeup touched her skin, and I’d be glad to do her makeup for the rest of my life.
Here’s her before pic,

Whenever I buy mineral eyeshadows, I usually get neutral colors. I’m not too confident with eyeshadow application and neutral colors are a lot more foolproof than its bright colored counterparts. My neutral mineral eyeshadows definitely outnumber any other shade of eyeshadow that I have in my makeup stash.
Weeks ago, I read an entry from this blog about storing mineral makeup sample baggies in trading card or business card holders. I bought a business card holder back then, but never got around to actually organizing my samples. So I started taking out my samples, and my sister suggested storing them by color.

Mineral Makeup Look : An EOTD While Organizing Mineral Eyeshadows

Looks like it’s graduation season again ( end of March ), and as The Blushing Vixen featured her gorgeous sister’s FOTD, let me just share my baby sister Sarabeth‘s FOTD, whose makeup I did, just a few hours ago.
This is what the makeup set that I have prepared for Sarabeth a night before , since she planned on waking up 5 am in the morning, and her makeup was to be done at 6 o’clock. No time for me to think then!
I wanted a fresh, simple look for the graduating sixth grader so I chose the following minerals and tools to get the job done :
