One day while strolling at the mall, I chanced upon Artdeco, a very under-rated, but very very nice makeup brand. I mentioned way back that they released mineral foundations, that were good enough as deparment store brands ( since most of the brands don’t meet my approval, sigh ). I said hello to the cheerful ladies on the booth, and I got surprised that aside from the mineral foundations they have it pots, they also added something new to their line - mineral foundations in powder-dispensing packaging, and mineral eyeshadows.

Mineral Makeup Mini-Haul : Artdeco Mineral Eyeshadows

I’ve been a bit tired from the shimmery mineral blushes lately, and I’ve been on the hunt for nice , matte mineral blushes. This week’s pick : Pure Anada’s Matte Berry Mineral Blush.

The Matte Berry Mineral Blush is described as “a basic cool pink.”. For me, it pretty much looks normal and neutral on the baggie that I have ( I purchased the 12-piece samples from them ), and I was stunned on how pretty it looked on my cheeks. No shimmer, just a touch of color on my cheeks. Plain and simple. Just the way I like it. I think I’d want to wear this blush everyday. The shade is just right for light to medium skin, it’d show up as a lovely pink flush. No red, just something light on the cheeks. Petal-ish.

Mineral Blush of the Week : Pure Anada’s Matte Berry

I was able to stock up some Oceanmist products a few months ago as they had a buy one, take one sale on their products. Mineral makeup sales are just so darn tempting because the promos are so generous! I was able to buy 2 full pots of Saffron Undereye Concealer (yeah, one can never have too much of this, this is a miracle worker ), and I decided to try again their foundation. Months ago, when Oceanmist first opened, they had limited shades, that hindered me from getting my shade. With their additional shades that had golden ( or yellow ) undertones in them, I was able to pick two shades to try : Lilia and Dandelion

Mineral Makeup Review : Oceanmist Cosmetics Mineral Foundation

Let me just share a random thought that I’ve had for the day. Yes, the day never passes by without me thinking about mineral makeup *wink*. For a mineral makeup addict, or even a user, one must have at least three foundation shades.

One being a slightly lighter shade, one your current shade, and one darker shade.

The lighter shade could be a last-minute concealer that you can use just in case your concealer runs out, and a shade that you can use during the cold months when the complexion pales by a bit. I have observed that complexions tend to lighten up during the months of November and December when the weather is cold. To counter the “lightened skin” effect, great addon minerals are bronzers ( not the muddy looking ones , not too orange ) that can give some warmth to the skin.

We Need At Least 3 Mineral Makeup Foundation Shades!

One of my favorite mineral makeup brands, Aromaleigh, also has their holiday gift sets ready, and let me just say that I love the concept! There are two gift sets, called Naughty, or Nice. Aromaleigh gets to be Santa, but you yourself can pick if you have been naughty, or nice, or give your friends the treat that they deserve jokingly! Haha!

Turquoise, our resident lippie addict, all just got hooked with my recommendation to try the Aromaleigh Lipgloss in Yum!

If you really want to know why I call her the mother of all lippie addicts, her makeup kit that she brings to work looks like this.

They look quite the pretty peach or pink in the picture, but when I saw them in person, I was really surprised to see that they looked purple!

Monave’s Purple-Looking Mineral Blushes

I was playing around with Lumiere eye makeup last Sunday, as I was trying to compose a great purple EOTD as my blouse was well, colored violet. ( haha! ) I had so much fun because Lumiere’s eye shadows are the silkiest in texture, and the staying power is good - it isn’t too pigmented that would give off too intense colors, but not too light that it wouldn’t show up.
