Looks like there’s a new mineral makeup brand in the block!
Fresh Minerals, comes with a very “fresh” tagline, “beauty never felt this fresh.” I havent tried the line for myself, but what impressed me at first inspection on their website is the packaging.
The foundations are packaged just like Philosophy’s Supernatural Mineral Powder, the concealer tube with brush looks like a Tarte product, other mineral powders are in very convenient pump brushes, and the color scheme, including the lipstick’s packaging, is very much Shiseido. Mineral eye powders look like Bare Escentuals packaging. I must say, the packaging and presentation is very elegant, but, will it fare well on our skin?

What’s New: Fresh Minerals

With applying mineral makeup, it is very important to have a reliable make up base, or primer, as it will prevent mineral makeup from sitting in pores and enhancing fine lines, like normal makeup application.
I’ve previously tried Bare Escentuals Prime Time, Bare Escentual‘s silicone based primer. It is lightweight, and the texture really resurfaces the skin as it fills in pores, fine lines, and did a great job in helping mineral makeup stay longer on the skin.

Inspired by ballet, Aromaleigh Mineral Makeup comes up with a really romantic, yet colorful eye makeup collection :

This is a gathering of lush shades, not just the expected ballet pink. For me, ballet is dramatic, emotional, and full of tragic beauty. With almost 20 years of ballet study, I watch not only dreaming that I could be on the stage, but knowing the iron strength and control that the most ethereal, graceful dancer must have.
“En Pointe” has a little bit of everything… plush matte shades with graceful iridescent highlights, a brilliant shimmering black and white that can make any color into whatever you imagine, and some lovely frosts with multi-faceted effects. Most of this year’s collections have been straight frosts with vivid sparkling highlights, but this collection is more understated while still being full of mystery and transient beauty.
The photos of these colors barely touch what they truly are like in person…

Mineral Makeup News : Aromaleigh’s En Pointe Collection

I’ve always been on the lookout for that perfect pressed mineral makeup out there. Mineral makeup is fairly new, as compared to traditional makeup, and trying to make pressed mineral makeup can be quite a challenge, doing away without preservatives, and binders that sometimes compromise quality.
When I came across the brand Colorescience, I was very curious about how it fared since it was the brainchild of Diane Ranger, mother of mineral makeup, and the founder of Bare Escentuals. Colorescience is an elite mineral makeup line that seeks to reconcile skin care and color ( makeup ) as it facilitates a good healing environment in the skin that highly complements dermatological procedures such as facial peels, laser procedures, and so much more.

The first time I roadtested Illuminare Cosmetics, I had trouble blending their foundations. I skipped, and just went on trying other brands. But with alot of satisfied customers, I began to think, was it something I did wrong? After a year or so, I decided to get trial sizes again to see how it’d fare on me. Yes, I don’t really give up!
From Illuminare Cosmetics‘ website, their liquid mineral foundation has 3 formulas,

Aubrey Organics is one brand that I’ve been hearing for a long time already, but it is only now that I got the chance to try it. When I saw their printed product catalog, I was immediately surprised with how much products they have – their products range from skin care, to anti-aging products, hair care, and of course, mineral makeup! Well, once the term mineral makeup was brought up to me, I said it was perfect to review for The Mineral Makeup Blog!
