When Meow Cosmetics launched their Firefly Collection, I knew I just had to get my hands on them. Lucky me, a friend was taking orders for the Fourth of July sale. So I hoarded samples of foundation, eye colors, feliners, blushes and bronzers. As in I literally hoarded. Three weeks after, I received my package and was swept away. The little baggies that came brought so much joy in them. I never, ever had like thirty-one samples! And unto this day, most of them are still untouched, waiting to be tried and tested.
Finally, I had the time to see for myself what the “puss†was all about. I swatched the blushes on my inner arm, and the bronzers on the back of my hand. Here they are:

The Glow From Within – Meow Firefly Collection
I was home on a Saturday night. Must have been the headache induced by my statistics class earlier in the day that made me just want to have some quality time with myself. And what better way to nurse a headache than to play with mineral makeup!
So I cleaned my face and did the usual routine, sans sunblock (it was already 8pm that time). It was also a good opportunity to test the sample of Coastalscents foundation in Honey light tan. I wasn’t expecting it to be a match, but it was! It blended well with my skin despite the fact that I just had a major breakout, thanks to my upcoming monthly period. And let me tell you, Coastalscents foundation is by far the most finely milled I have ever used! Just by looking at the pot, there is no chunkiness or clumps of minerals.
Back to my eye look, I was thinking of something pinkish to go with Valerie Beauty MPM’s in Wink and Karma. I then reached for Meow Scandal Eyes in Tenacious, described as “Peach w/golden bronze shimmer.†It’s one of my fave lid colors as it complements neutrals, even greens! Using my eye shadow brush, I applied it on my whole lid.

The Blush Vixen’s Mineral Makeup Look of the Night
Our new contributor Joyce has been raving about Meow ever since she got her hands in it. Here’s a review of Meow Minerals, according to her.
I recently tried Meow Cosmetics, and I must say, it IS NOW my Holy Grail foundation. I had a previous Holy Grail foundation, but when I tried MEOW, I knew it was my new HG.
I tried 3 formulas, namely Purrfect Puss, Pampered Puss, and Flawless Feline.
To describe the three formulas of Meow Minerals,
Purrfect Puss: The website says that, “Purrr-fect Puss foundation is our original sheer, matte, layerable-coverage mineral foundation utilizing the latest light refraction pigments for a youthful dewy appearanceâ€

Mineral Makeup Review : Meow Minerals Foundation Formulas
Happy 4th of July! In the midst of the celebration of American liberty, mineral makeup companies are also holding their sales as treats to their loyal customers, and encourage more newbies to try their lines! Here’s a partial list of those who are holding sales on the spirit of July 4 ( and month-long ones, too! )
I am getting dizzy. Really.
Dizzy with delight, with the new collections of various mineral makeup brands!!!
Mineral makeup brand owners seem to get alot of inspiration when the beautiful season of summer comes along, and Meow Cosmetics is inspired by the vibrant glows of fireflies, thus, their new product offering, the Firefly Collection.
The description of this collection from the website is simply tempting,
Our new Firefly Collection of blushes and bronzers have a creamy, dewy feel on the skin, and provide a luminescent scintillating sheen of sun drenched color and shimmer. This collection is comprised of the most sumptuous mineral cosmetic ingredients available.
When I’ve visited Aileen’s site a few days ago, I was instantly smitten with her look for the day. Safe, neutral shades were used to fill her lid, and crease ( we both love Bare Escentuals Glimmer in Summer, and highly adore Bare Escentuals Glimmer in Queen Tiffany ), and what a way to finish her look by applying eyeliner in Meow Feliner in Sweaty Paws!
In my opinion, it just instantly drawn all the attention to the eyes, making it look all bright, awake, and pretty! I loved the look so much that I decided to replicate the look for my Friday night movie with friends. Friday nights aren’t too gimick-y nights so bold eye makeup isn’t needed, but I was wearing a black blouse, and I needed something to spice up my look.
