I found an article at Savvy Skin ( Hi, Jenny! ) about mineral makeup being bad for your skin.
Well, this is a mineral makeup blog, and we might as well tackle the good and bad points about mineral makeup, right?

The good thing about mineral makeup is that it is devoid of harsh chemicals and preservatives that stress the skin more, clog pores, and aggravate acne or any skin condition. Of course, we would prefer natural products to be applied on the skin, and mineral makeup is the closest thing to natural because it has no chemicals and preservatives.
But then, there are other mineral makeup products out there that still have preservatives, and chemicals. And, I don’t deny that there are other people who react to mineral makeup negatively - their skin, that is.

Can Mineral Makeup Cause Harm To Your Skin?

Mineral makeup companies are also all for Breast Cancer Awareness Month as they come up with cute pink gift sets. Jane Iredale Minerals joins the cause as it comes up with the In The Pink Set.
This, for me, is a great gift set for your beauty-holic family members and friends, as the 24 karat gold dust, paired with the dust brush, is perfect for highlighting, as well as to be applied on the lid area for that added “perk me up” and brightness. Just a sheer application would make the difference! The gold organza bag tops it all as it makes such perfect packaging. It includes a pink pin that would remind you that with your purchase, Jane Iredale donates part of the sale to the organization of their choice. Breast cancer is nothing but light to the hearts of many. May we spread the awareness of prevention of this deadly disease that cost the lives of many.

Last summer, my fondest memory was waking up in my hotel room ( we were on a beach vacation ), wearing my bikini, then reaching for the tabletop for the bronzer ( I laid it out the moment I got there ), then countouring my “abs”, and it looked like I had some! Haha! Continue Reading »
Jane Iredale’s Brush Me Bronze
Mineral makeup CAN really hide almost everything, given the right application technique. I’ve been doing makeovers for the past 6 months on people, and I have seen how mineral makeup transforms problematic skin to how-did-you-get-that gorgeous, clear glow look!
I admit that I have never done a makeover on a post-laser treated woman like this, but Jane Iredale has. This picture is included in one of Jane Iredale’s pamphlets, and I could not help but be wowed on the drastic difference of half of the woman’s face!

I am guessing, from my experience of using Jane Iredale products that they have used the following : Continue Reading »

Yes, mineral makeup has its place on the runway, too! Julie Fredrickson of Coutorture Media, the community where my Beautynomics blog is a member of, has interviewed Kevin Kindelson, Makeup Artist for Jane Iredale Cosmetics. Watch the video, as he talks about mineral makeup, its place on the runway, and the trends of makeup! I personally love it!

This might be a bit late since I have just started blogging this month, but my favorite disco diva Kylie Minogue’s equally gorgeous sister, Danni Minogue, graced the cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine June 2006 edition, and actually likes mineral makeup! Particularly, Jane Iredale Mineral Cosmetics.
