Mineral Makeup Review : Lily Lolo Minerals

Wednesday 26 September 2007 @ 10:46 pm

Prelude : This is Nikki’s first time to feature her FOTD on The Mineral Makeup Blog. I say, read on to see how gorgeous she is! – The Mineral Makeup Girl

One of the mineral makeup companies based in the United Kingdom is Lily Lolo. I was lucky enough to try it out a few months ago. Their sample sizes are very generous and they all came in 5 gram jars filled to the brim except for blushes and eye shadows which came in baggies. I got the olive tones in Sahara and Butterscotch since these were described as having strong yellow undertones as compared to their warm shades which are peach. Their foundations have light to medium coverage and are Bismuth-free so no itchies for me. The finish is not matte (no kaolin clay) yet not shiny either. There wasn’t that much difference in the shades I got and both looked good on me so I just mixed them up. I topped it off with their finishing powders in Flawless Matte (Kaolin and mica) and Shine Away (ground clay). And let me tell you, Coastalscents foundation is by far the most finely milled I have ever used! Just by looking at the pot, there is no chunkiness or clumps of minerals.

Back to my eye look, I was thinking of something pinkish to go with Valerie Beauty MPM’s in Wink and Karma. I then reached for Meow Scandal Eyes in Tenacious, described as “Peach w/golden bronze shimmer.” It’s one of my fave lid colors as it complements neutrals, even greens! Using my eye shadow brush, I applied it on my whole lid.

coastalscents mineral makeup

For the past few months, I have been camera-shy to share my picture of me wearing minerals, and well, slowly, I am coming out of my shell to post to share to the world what great effects mineral makeup does on the skin. Well, I’m starting off with an Eye of the Night, that I sported last Friday in a birthday dinner of a relative.

This was the perfect chance for me to roadtest the Coastalscents Mineral Makeup that I have received this month. Here is what I did with my eyes :
