Here’s a quick story from my photoshoot held last Saturday. I was doing Cilarisse’s makeup, and I decided to apply an earth tone combo, and as I was very very afraid that the shade would turn out dull in photos, I whipped up my ever reliable Monave Multi-purpose Mineral in Gold Brick to use on her. Turns out, the color was very vivid. I didn’t even have to apply it wet!

Mineral Makeup in Photoshoots Give Stunning Eye Candy
Yesterday, I was able to do makeup for my sister’s photoshoot, and it was just the perfect opportunity to roadtest the liquid mineral foundation that I’ve been hoping to work nicely - Skin Alison Raffaele’s Liquid Foundation. I’ve been wanting to collect good mineral makeup with the hope of one day, I will be able to have a traincase full of just mineral makeup for me to take on the road. It’s quite a challenge, especially here in my country where everything is humid and melts pretty easily.
Results? Here they are.

Mineral Makeup Look : Skin Alison Raffaele Liquid Foundation

I know, I know, I haven’t been posting! My sincere apologies to my readers of The Mineral Makeup Blog! I owe you lots! I’ve been too engrossed with makeup school, and trying to perfect the art of seamless eye makeup that I hardly sleep anymore. Haha!
Anyway, just a treat to my readers, I’ve made a full mineral makeover of my sister using mineral makeup that I’ve never featured before here ( at least, the items! ). The reviews of some of them will be up within the week.
The subject of my makeover is my ever-up for anything little sister Suzie who’s in college. She’s allergic to alot of things that’s why I only let her use mineral makeup, and nothing else. As she got home from school, I asked her if I could make her over for this entry, and she gladly agreed. I’ve been applying makeup for her ever since makeup touched her skin, and I’d be glad to do her makeup for the rest of my life.
Here’s her before pic,

A Very Full Mineral Makeup Makeover
Last weekend was indeed scorching hot. My friends and I went to Tagaytay ( some highlands here that would be colder than the city ) and the beach. I was too lazy to apply any eye makeup because of the sweltering heat.

Mineral Makeup Technique : Eyeliner for the Hot Days
Crissy, one of our beautiful contributors here, has decided to “bare it all”, and show her EOTD to us!
Here’s her adventure with silver shades! Enjoy reading! - MMU Girl

Whenever I buy mineral eyeshadows, I usually get neutral colors. I’m not too confident with eyeshadow application and neutral colors are a lot more foolproof than its bright colored counterparts. My neutral mineral eyeshadows definitely outnumber any other shade of eyeshadow that I have in my makeup stash.
Weeks ago, I read an entry from this blog about storing mineral makeup sample baggies in trading card or business card holders. I bought a business card holder back then, but never got around to actually organizing my samples. So I started taking out my samples, and my sister suggested storing them by color.

Mineral Makeup Look : An EOTD While Organizing Mineral Eyeshadows
For the very first time, I am sharing an FOTD that doesn’t feature yours truly, but my little sister who just graduated from her culinary arts course. The Mineral Makeup Girl once did her little sister’s makeup too! Isn’t that just sweet, big sisters primping and prettifying the li’l ones!
When my sister told me maybe I should do her makeup on graduation day, I was totally clueless. Sure, I did attempt to put makeup on her once, like a few years ago, and it didn’t turn out so well. Much that she almost didn’t want me to touch her face ever again! Lol. I guess she changed her mind seeing how often I wear mineral makeup these days.
I have my own ideas. But in playing makeup artist , I made it a point to ask her what look she was going for and what colors she had in mind. Since the event was set a little after lunch, she didn’t want it to be too dark, or smokey or over-the-top. She was aiming for something in neutrals/coppers that would complement her floral kimono dress and rich medium skin tone. I let her pick the colors from my makeup box, mostly in neutrals, golds and coppers. Two nights before, we sort of “practiced” the look so as not to take too much time when I am to actually do her makeup.
Presenting my sister:

And this was taken after, not before the ceremony since we were running late! Here’s her EOTD:

Mineral Makeup Look : Graduation Day FOTD
One of the mineral makeup brands that interests me is Aromaleigh. It’s just too bad they don’t ship here to the Philippines. Nevertheless, I’ve been fortunate enough to get some samples care of the Mineral Makeup Girl and I got more from a friend of Nikki’s, another Mineral Makeup addict.
This has been sitting in my stash for a couple of months:

Nice, glittery stuff. When I received them, I was absolutely clueless on what to use them for. Hence, I waited for the day I can actually put them to good use. Until last night, out of sheer boredom, I decided to challenge myself yet again. Continue Reading »
Mineral Makeup Review : Putting Aromaleigh Rocks to the Test

I woke up extra early today because it was my baby sister’s big day - her graduation picture day. Well, ya know I’m not a morning person for sure, but I really did try!
Here’s what I did for my baby sis ( who is not a baby anymore, I guess. ). Only the best for her - mineral makeup ! I don’t want to be hurting her baby skin that I wish was mine!
1. First, I applied moisturizer on her since her skin seemed to be dry on some areas.
2. Second, I applied a mix of Monave Hyeyeon and Caroline Concealer Foundation using a flat top brush to ensure that her foundation would stay put all throughout the day. She told me she was having a speech practice before having her shot taken, and I am not taking any chances.

A Mineral Makeup FOTD For Graduation Picture
I’ve always, always been fascinated of Egyptian civilization; of the pyramids and its treasures and of the classic beauty of Nefertiti. And not to mention, Cleopatra. So when a famous non-MMU makeup brand launched one of its latest collections, I just can’t help but be held in wonder on the way Egyptians did their makeup. From a little research on the web I came up with some info:

An Egyptian Mineral Makeup Look for Halloween
Ah, yes! The Blush Vixen is back, this time, to rave about liners.

By this time, most of you know that I’m truly addicted to mineral blushes and currently sustaining another addiction to mineral eye colors. But wait, it just doesn’t end there. I’ve also discovered a liking to eye liners. Not the pencil kind though, the ones I played with when I was younger used to smudge, giving me the infamous “panda eyes.” I found them quite hard to apply, perhaps because I didn’t really know how to use them in the first place. Haha.
