Mineral makeup CAN really hide almost everything, given the right application technique. I’ve been doing makeovers for the past 6 months on people, and I have seen how mineral makeup transforms problematic skin to how-did-you-get-that gorgeous, clear glow look!
I admit that I have never done a makeover on a post-laser treated woman like this, but Jane Iredale has. This picture is included in one of Jane Iredale’s pamphlets, and I could not help but be wowed on the drastic difference of half of the woman’s face!

I am guessing, from my experience of using Jane Iredale products that they have used the following :
Liquid Minerals™ : I think that they applied Liquid Minerals on her first. Got a sponge, pumped some product out, and applied on the half of her face. This lightweight liquid mineral foundation is definitely nothing ordinary. Unlike traditional liquid foundations that feel really heavy and icky on the skin, this feels like tinted moisturizer that gives ample coverage. It is also moisturizing at the same time, and diminishes wrinkles, huge pores, and fine lines. This vitamin-infused minerals has so much benefits that it also helps the skin’s condition - definitely more than giving coverage and wearing makeup for the day!
Disappear Concealer : This concealer claims to cover even the heaviest pigmented skin, try a tattoo, for instance! It doesn’t only “cover” the problems momentarily, it covers, and heals at the same time, thanks to the liposome-based formulas containing seaweed extracts, superoxide dismutaste ( breaks down free radicals ), and green tea extract ( antioxidant ). I think that they have applied this, using a concealer brush on the problem areas after the Liquid Minerals application. By then, every red spot is already concealed, and the last step , I am guessing, would be

either PurePressed® Pressed Minerals SPF 20 or Amazing Base® Loose Minerals SPF 20.These two formulas can finish off the well-concealed look. PurePressed Minerals will be able to further “polish” the look by sealing it with a flawless finish, while Amazing Base Loose Minerals will give it a heavier coverage, and would be further complimented by the D2O™ Hydration Spray, that will help tone down the flakies associated with laser treatments, and will make the skin look more dewy, and hydrated.

Well, that’s just my opinion! They might have done it in a different way, but if I were to guess, or to do the makeover myself, these would be the steps to be employed (plus a good under eye concealer like Circle\Delete. In all honesty, I think that the coverage can be pulled off given mineral makeup. It is highly highly possible to achieve this effect. How about you, do you have any idea on how the makeup artists at Jane Iredale made a drastic improvement like this?

Love the JI line! The woman in the ad is Jane Iredale herself, btw.
Sue : I just went back on reading the brochure , and I just realized it was her! Lol! Thanks for the mention!

Good choices; I don’t think they could have buffed anything onto that raw skin..
