Do not use Bare Minerals!!!! I have developed horrible acne that has left scarring on my face due to using Bare Minerals!! I used to have flawless skin and now I am suffering from the scars that Bare Minerals has left me. They have false advertising! They claim to not use fillers! Bismuth Oxychloride is a cheap filler and causes cystic acne!!!! Several friends of mine have stopped using Bare Minerals because they have experienced the same probelems as I have! If you are having acne probelems and you use Bare Minerals now you know why!!!!

Reaction to make up with Bismuth Oxychloride in it has now been going on for the 3rd week. Horrible itching/burning which is constant. Swelling under eyes causing "bags" that appeared filled with water etc. 2 visits to dermatolotists as of today. The frightening appearance of my face prevented me from doing my normal "outside" of home routine. Ingredients not listed "on product itself by Maybelline

I'm so glad I found this blog. I thought I was nuts as I'm the only one I knew of that had the "itching and stinging sensation" when the weather was hot or when I perspired from working out! I just knew it had to be the mineral makeup! No other makeup I've used causes this reaction. I love the way the mineral makeup looks but the reaction is terrible. Now I'll know to look for bismuth oxychloride in the ingredient list. Thanks so much!

I checked the website for MEOW (the link above)cosmetics and the first ingredient is Mica in all three of their formulations. They don't use bismuth but the other ingredients are much like the others. Their website says it's for sensitive skin but I don't know what makes it that much better for sensitive skin. You were right...good to read labels.

Hi,
Thanks for mentioning my site. Even though I was writing about some people having problems with mineral makeup, I've never had any problems with it!
