Cute blog!
Bad experiences with two mineral-based brands of makeup and one silicone temporary wrinkle pack and line-fill cream.
1) Bare E: I couldn’t believe how awful it looked on me no matter how lightly I applied it. It reminded me of made up corpses lying in coffins! I returned the makeup for a refund and told them they had to be kidding! However, it seemed women continued raving about it so much so that I thought I would try another brand.
2) Mineral-based powders from J. Lynne Cosmetics: The products looked pretty good, but then I started getting little bumps–clear skin-colored bumps–that would not go away. It’s been at least two years and the bumps are I still there!
3) I tried “Signature Club A Non-Toxic Silicone Plus” and fell in love with it. It felt so silky smooth and left my complexion looking just as smooth despite my naturally-large pores. Wow, I was sold after the first one or two applications and immediately stocked up on it just in case they stopped making it. Then I began getting the same little bumps that never went away. I was too quick to stock up, but I learned a lesson.
These experiences make me a little leery of trying new products. Does anyone out there have any idea what these little skin-colored bumps are that do not go away? They look as though there is swelling around the pores. They do not look like pimples. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks and best wishes. — Jewelweed
I also have those flesh-colored bumps. The doctor said it was clogged pores. Tried steaming my face and washing with strong Dial soap. It seems to help. But don’t overdo it, you’ll have chapped skin for sure. Back to my old liquid Revlon makeup. Never had a problem with Revlon and I don’t look like a corpse with it!
